Hello, I'm Aimee. Welcome to my site!

I specialize in a variety of therapeutic and energetic modalities to assist you with your health, comfort, and well being.

As a practitioner in the healing arts, my focus combines the science of physiology and function with the awareness of spirit to enhance the quality of our life and relationships.

The body (which is inclusive of the mind, spirit, and emotions) is the primary vehicle for a happy functioning life. It is also a doorway for reflection to discover so much more about who we truly are and what we intend to be.

The Whole Human is recognized in you.

With multiple degrees in Therapeutic Bodywork, Health Energy Science and Integral Psychology, combined with many years of supporting clients in both touch and talk, I’ve learned to utilize an openhearted awareness for a nurturing, compassionate connection that helps people balance and regulate their central nervous system.

All of this helps to create a relaxing and receptive space for the body to heal. Whether you are looking for a comforting touch to relax and decompress your day, support to rehabilitate an injury, or assistance in a deeper support for reflection and awareness, I help to guide your connection back into yourself. The true place of healing.

Please enjoy browsing this site. I’d love to hear from you if you have any comments, questions, or are ready to schedule your first session! In the meantime, sending deep wishes for a happy purpose filled life!

Modalities

Therapeutic Massage is a broad term that refers to the use of soft tissue therapies which assist in prevention or rehabilitation of injuries occurring within the body. Below is a brief description of techniques utilized  by Aimee Freeman Somatic Therapist.

Myofascial Meridian Therapy  | The focus of this technique is to bring organization, alignment, and mobility to the deeply woven bands of connective tissue which make up the body’s fascial system. This is extremely beneficial for functional movement and pain relief in the body’s structure.

Deep Tissue Therapy | This body of work is unique in its ability to “sculpt” or access the deeper layers of the musculoskeletal system of the body. Unlike other forms that are more of a “deep rubbing,” this technique is characterized by firm constant compressions and strokes applied parallel to the muscle fibers. This work is slow as well as deep, and helps the client in connecting, not only to the contracted and stagnant areas within the muscles, but also allows space for openings in consciousness. Places where deep pockets of emotion and memories can be held within the tissue.

Neuro-muscular Therapy | This specialized form of manual therapy applies static pressure to specific points within the muscles, tendons, and connective tissue. This is beneficial for pain relief in tissue with restricted blood flow, nerve entrapments, and trigger points which refer pain to other parts of the body.

Cranial Sacral Therapy | CST is a form of energetic bodywork using light cranial, spinal, and pelvic holds, to assist in the regulation and flow of the Cerebral Spinal Fluid (CSF). The CSF is the hydrating conduit of our entire nervous system from deep within the ventricles of the brain, the spinal cord, and all the way down into our sacrum. The rhythm and flow of the CS fluid affects all nerve signals through our core body. When balanced in its inherent rhythm, our body has the innate ability to heal from many different forms of nervous system trauma such as headaches, brain/mental focus, and nerve entrapments.

Somato-Emotional Therapy | This therapeutic technique helps the client to connect to and release patterns of trauma, held consciously or subconsciously. Traumatic experiences can get stuck in our tissue memory and over time these patterns of contraction can form protective barriers and lead to physical and emotional strain. This body of work is excellent in conjunct to traditional talk therapy and is found especially helpful when the client feels that after cognitive exploration there is more needed assist the root cause for change.

About

Practitioner:
Aimee Freeman - Somatic Therapist

Established in 1995

Though the name and location have changed a bit. I started this company with the focus of holistic health support and continue to grow through the forms of treatment and modalities that are provided.

In 1994 I began as a student at The International Professional School of Bodywork (IPSB) in San Diego. There I fell in love with the journey of self-discovery, using therapeutic massage and body-mind based therapies. In 1995, I started partnering with health based companies whose emphasis was in chiropractic, acupuncture, and functional medicine. My practice has taken me many places, including an 8 year career at the Naval Amphibious Base in Coronado California, assisting with injury prevention and rehabilitation for the U.S. Special Forces. Five years into my career, I was invited to return to IPSB to teach and became a lead instructor in many of the foundational programs there. As my experience grew, so did my awareness that there was something deeper to the body’s layers. I began to sense beyond muscle and bone, which, when opened, increased vitality and balance in this wonderful human system. My passions for this subject led me to the study of energy medicine, including cranial sacral therapy, relational somatics, somato-emotional therapy, shamanic studies, reiki and pranic healing.

After many years of utilizing touch and presence to support people in times of change, I realized that with those openings came the need for people to talk about their discoveries. They needed new tools to help anchor this new reality and awareness of who they were. This is when I decided to return to school (once again) and earn my degree in integral psychology.

Today, I am running a private practice which has a well rounded support to meet the ever changing needs of my clients. I am developing my own body of work called The Reflection Perspective, which is a program designed to help assist the development of self-awareness, by enhancing perspective to the truth of our powerfully sacred life, and peace to the reflective body we live within.

“Let your light shine so brightly that others can see their way out of the dark.”
